August 2023 Honoree
Emily Amporful, RN
My 71-year-old father was a patient for a little over two weeks due to a stroke. Thanks to your staff, he is making good progress.
However, it was Emily who stood out above the rest. She assisted my father with his first shower after not being able to bathe for a week. She set up the bathroom nicely with all the necessary toiletries, towels, and a chair. She assisted with shampooing his hair as well. My dad felt like a new man, and it was the first time he felt like himself since the stroke.
Emily had been his nurse for two days in a row, and on those days, my dad felt the most ALIVE. It was not only her care but her spirit that kept him going. The world needs more people like her. She would constantly check-in and inform our family of any updates. When she wasn't his nurse and was in the area, she would peek in and say hello. It is because of Emily that we knew my dad was in good hands, and I would like her to know this! Emily, thank you for being a great human being.

Thank you, Emily, for your exceptional compassion, advocacy, and dedication to your patients. You truly make a difference.
