Emily was recognized by a patient who brought him "back to life," in a meaningful way. After his fifth trip to the hospital for a life-threatening episode and having lost his will to go on, this patient described himself as abusive and angry toward all in his life, until he met Emily. When she walked into his room and recognized the desperation in his face, she asked him if he wanted to talk. Her warm smile, time and love replaced the hate the patient felt in his heart. Upon his return home, he wrote to say he is in a different state of mind thanks to Emily and rediscovered the will to live.
