The CNO of Piedmont Newnan Hospital, Jason G. Smith, RN, received a phone call from a recently discharged patient following a knee replacement. These are the words he received from that patient. Jason stated the patient couldn't have bragged more on the "absolute amazing care" he received by all but mainly Emily. The patient stated that Emily cared for him several times during his stay and she made him comfortable and secure. "She is a very skilled and knowledgeable nurse that always goes above and beyond". On his day of discharge the walker that was delivered was missing wheels and he didn't feel comfortable going home, she took care of it. After he was discharged there was a problem with the lovenox order at the pharmacy, so he called Emily and again she took care of it all the while keeping him informed about the process. Per Jason, "We are fortunate to have Emily on our team and caring for our community!!"
Nancy Mothorpe, Clinical Manager of 8th Med Surg added, "On the unit she has made educational storyboards in regards to missing documentation in EPIC. She teaches the Joint School, participates on the Sepsis Team and Joint Certification Team. Her high activity level keeps the staff informed of best practice processes. Her commitment goes above and beyond, but her most importantly she keeps the patient in the forefront for safety and quality care."
Thank you Emily!
