I received a touching email from the daughters of one of our liver transplant patients. Emily epitomizes care and compassion. Here is the message from our patient’s daughter. “My father was the 1st liver transplant patient to be diagnosed with COVID at UH. He was admitted 3 times during this period, including needing treatment for severe rejection. We are so grateful to our UH liver team who helped us navigate such an extremely difficult and terribly uncertain time. Emily’s consistent (almost daily) guidance eased some of the trauma and fear of the day. Emily is extremely knowledgeable, kind, and compassionate.
