Emily was nominated by multiple teammates. Each nomination spoke of Emily’s positive attitude and her willingness to build caring relationships with her team. Some of the nominations included the following: She cares for her team by always being available as a resource when we need help or have questions. She makes sure that we take breaks and reminds us to eat. She even makes sure the nurses, techs, physicians and even our director eats. She organizes ordering lunch for everyone, even if that means receiving lunch orders from the team at 8 am. She is always very in tune with the team and identifies if somebody may be having a rough day and need some extra support. She is so supportive of our newer nurses and new grads! Many of our new grads report that during the time they had clinicals or were externs that ultimately Emily is part of the reason they chose CVICU as their place to work. Our patients feel the same way about Emily. She is often recognized by patients and especially family members as she goes out of her way to support them during their ICU stays. Emily is a true advocate for our patients and our team. We are very lucky to have her on our unit!
