When I stepped into the emergency department at CHOP, I was overwhelmed and unsure where to turn. But from the moment we arrived, the entire team went above and beyond to care for my son in ways words can barely capture. Emily, in particular, treated my son as if he were her own. She helped him feel comfortable and safe within minutes, which was simply unexplainable. Not only did Emily put my son at ease, but she also calmed my husband by explaining each step she was taking to stabilize his breathing and oxygen levels. Her compassion, professionalism, and dedication shone through, reassuring us in a moment of uncertainty. Some people come to work for a paycheck; Emily comes to work to change lives. She's helping our future doctors, lawyers, teachers, and leaders recover from illness as quickly as possible. Emily, I want to say that not all heroes wear capes, but in my eyes, you are one of CHOP's superheroes. Thank you for everything.
