She validated my pain, honored my experience, and helped me feel in control during a time when I felt powerless. That kind of support can’t be measured. It’s the kind of care that stays with you for life.
There are good nurses, and then there are Extraordinary Nurses who leave a mark on your heart forever. Emily is one of those rare, exceptional people whose care goes far beyond a job description. She’s the kind of nurse you pray for when you’re scared, in pain, and unsure if anyone will really see you.

From the moment Emily walked into my room, she made me feel safe. Not just physically. Emotionally, spiritually, and as a whole person. She looked me in the eye, listened without rushing, and didn’t brush off my concerns the way others had. She treated me like a human being with a story, not just another patient on a list. That alone was healing.

Her kindness is the kind that can’t be faked. It showed in how she spoke gently but confidently, how she explained things without making me feel dumb, and how she remembered the little details. Things I didn’t expect anyone to notice. She checked in often, adjusted things to make me more comfortable, and didn’t wait to be asked. She just saw what needed to be done and did it with heart.

What stood out most was her empathy. I’ve been through more trauma than most, and Emily never made me feel like a burden. She validated my pain, honored my experience, and helped me feel in control during a time when I felt powerless. That kind of support can’t be measured. It’s the kind of care that stays with you for life.

In a system that can sometimes feel cold or rushed, Emily brought light, warmth, and real human compassion. She reminded me that healing isn’t just about medicine. It’s about connection. She is everything the DAISY Award stands for and more.

I can say without hesitation that Emily deserves this award. She didn’t just care for me. She cared about me. And I’ll never forget that.
