Emily Cote, BSN, RN

In the short time I have known Emily, she has consistently gone above and beyond for her patients on countless occasions. She is a tireless advocate for others while demonstrating compassion and empathy for both her colleagues and patients. The first time I saw how Emily was willing to go above and beyond, was when she was recovering a post-op ERCP patient. The patient had a long, complicated procedure and a tough diagnosis. The patient was in pain, cold, and shaking. Emily ensured that the MD was aware of and ordering pain medication, but also proceeded to bring her warm blankets and hot packs during her prolonged stay. On another occasion, a patient lost their glasses at some point in their endoscopy stay. Emily made sure to find the glasses and drove to NH to deliver them to the patient. At a time of intense nursing burnout, she is an example to us all of the little things we can do to remember why we want to be a nurse.
