No words are adequate to describe the quality and compassionate care Emily provided to my Dad as well as his daughters after his open-heart surgery. I know Emily as a fellow peer on Magnet and I am always blown away by her tender, compassionate, and soft-spoken humble manner she carries herself in. When I saw Emily was his first nurse coming from open heart surgery I could have cried with relief! There was a lot of anxiety leading up to his surgery, but knowing Emily was there assured me all would be OK! She explained quickly what was going on and allowed me to see my dad. She even took my phone number so she could give frequent updates. Despite all the intense, detailed, and timely nursing care she had to provide to my dad immediately post-surgery, Emily took the time to personally call me and my sister with updates a few hours into her shift. She encouraged me to call her any time for additional updates and even took time to Zoom with me, my two sisters, and Dad once he was no longer intubated. She will probably never understand how much that meant not only to me but to my entire family. She not only supported my Dad but also helped me and my sisters during a stressful time. Emily is an exceptional nurse who deserves to be recognized for going above and beyond in providing comfort, support, and reassurance during uncertain and scary times. No words are adequate enough to say thank you. You blessed my family and we will never forget that.
