She went above and beyond yesterday, and I really appreciated it. I had a mammogram, and the radiologist messaged me that additional testing was needed but didn't say why. I called and scheduled the testing, but the scheduler said that she wasn't allowed to tell me what the testing was for. I called the mammogram clinic, and they couldn't find a nurse to tell me what the testing was for. Everyone I spoke to could read what the testing was for but wasn't allowed to tell me. By the end of the day, I was quite frustrated and anxious. I had scheduled "additional testing" but didn't know what it was for or why. At the end of the workday, I called my PCP clinic and eventually reached Emily, RN.

After hearing my story and probably hearing the worry in my voice that my mammogram results were abnormal and required additional testing but nobody would tell me what it was, she assured me that she would do her best to speak with one of the providers in the clinic in order to be able to give my results to me. I believe she stayed after work until the provider finished with her patient, then spoke with her and got permission to tell me my results. She called me back well after clinic closing time, which I appreciated so much. She told me what the imaging showed and why further testing was needed. It shouldn't have been that hard to get my own results. Although the provider who ordered the additional testing should have notified me (and didn't), and I also understand that appointment schedulers typically shouldn't be able to relay test results, in the swirl of yesterday, I was the only person not reading my own test results. Emily took the time to understand my frustration, and although it wasn't her fault, she took the initiative to fix it. Thank you, Emily!

Thank you, Emily, for your exceptional compassion, advocacy, and dedication to your patients. You truly make a difference.
