With each passing day, Emily encouraged me to keep fighting and now with her help, I am finally going home.
Emily stepped into my life on a day that I was the sickest I have ever been. Feeling scared and lonely as the hospital is not a place you want to be alone. I had to leave my six beautiful children. That is when I met a true “angel” nurse, Emily. Emily became much more than a nurse, but also a friend. Not just any friend but one who genuinely cares about the patients. We met when I was on 15L of oxygen. In the 8 days that I was here, I was lucky to have Emily for 4 of those days. She came in and was ready to fight the oxygen and start reducing. “We are going to make your body work too,” she said. Within a day, we reduced the oxygen by 2 liters. On Monday, Emily asked if I wanted a shower. I never felt so much better. With each passing day, Emily encouraged me to keep fighting and now with her help, I am finally going home. Emily, you will always be remembered through my journey. I am excited to see how many other lucky patients lives you get to touch! Thank you for all you did!
