Hard to put into words the level of care I received from Emily as it hit so many levels that help nurture someone like me, new to trying to navigate my health in a hospital setting, as well as the health care system.

First of all, when Emily talks to you, she gets eye to eye and is on your level, so you know she is engaged and invested in you. You are not a passing conversation on her way to the next patient. Not only did she make sure I had everything I need, but she wanted to make sure I was okay too.

When news came through in a rush while I was in extreme pain that I would be going into dangerous surgery, she sat on the bed and held my hand while I worked through everything I was going through. She let me know that anytime I wanted to stop, I could and that was okay too.

Her deep compassion for her patients is evident in everything she does. I have had other nurses before and after her and I cannot imagine how much harder this would have been without her great care. She is an exceptional nurse and an outstanding nurse and human being.
