I am writing to express my deepest gratitude and appreciation for the care my husband received at Spartanburg Medical Center following a motor vehicle accident caused by a drunk driver. The incident occurred on a Thursday afternoon at approximately 3:30 PM, and it was a deeply distressing and unexpected event for our family.

As an Operating Room nurse at another facility, I was both relieved and anxious upon learning that my husband had sustained a femur fracture—relieved that it wasn’t worse, but anxious knowing the road ahead would involve surgery and recovery. Being unfamiliar with the Spartanburg team only added to my unease.

That changed the moment I met Nurse Emily in the pre-op area. She introduced herself and assured me that she would be watching over my husband in the OR. Her calm demeanor and compassionate words immediately lifted a weight off my shoulders. Throughout the procedure, this nurse kept me informed and reassured, going above and beyond in a way that brought immense comfort during a very difficult time. As someone who understands the complexity and demands of the OR, I know the level of skill, coordination, and dedication it takes to provide the kind of care my husband received. Her professionalism and commitment did not go unnoticed.

Operating Room staff often work behind the scenes and don’t always receive the recognition they deserve. I want to ensure that this nurse is acknowledged for her outstanding work and the compassion she showed not only to my husband but also to me.
