I have been struggling very much since the beginning of the year (January 1st to be exact). In August I lost my job at the post office of 23 years, in turn I lost my house, which led to my wife telling me she was leaving me. This is what put me over the edge and I attempted suicide on the 1st of January. I spent 35 days in the hospital after this and then I was homeless. I managed to get into a homeless shelter, the Transitional Living Center. There is one floor of the center, strictly for veterans - Victory House. I am slowly building my life back again. The reason I am nominating Emily is because she actually pulled up a chair and listened to my story. It is so comforting to know that there are people out there that truly care. I am forever thankful to her and all the staff on the 7 North care team.

Thank you, Emily, for your exceptional compassion, advocacy, and dedication to your patients. You truly make a difference.
