Emily is a nurse that you can count on to remain positive in the face of change.
Emily came in during my labor/delivery and was very encouraging and caring! She made sure I was doing good and after delivery she went out of her way to transfer me to a comfortable room and making it the smoothest transition for me. Emily is an excellent nurse.
***
Emily has been in Maternity for over two years, and she has grown professionally and taken on additional responsibilities. She has been a preceptor for new nurses and has been a charge nurse on nights. She has excelled in both. She gives our new nurses a solid foundation to grow, she encourages questions, and she is positive and supportive.
As a charge nurse, she has been calm and responsive in emergency situations and works tirelessly to ensure that the patients are given excellent patient care and she supports her fellow nurses. She is a patient advocate and is recognized frequently during leader rounding on her kindness, empathy, and helpfulness. She is our Mercy representative for the Infant Bereavement group, the Maternity UPC, and she is a member of the Night Partnership Council (NPC) at Mercy. Emily is a nurse that you can count on to remain positive in the face of change. She always has a smile on her face and brightens everyone’s mood. During the pandemic, Emily used her medical/surgical and PCU nursing skills to float to those departments and take care of patients. She was a patient advocate, provided safe and excellent patient care, and was supportive of her fellow nurses in those other departments.
