Emily Hong, BSN, RN

My husband is getting infusions for Alzheimer’s. Although he is in the earliest stage of the disease, it has affected his way of interacting with others. His conversations are often rambling, and he tends to talk a lot. Everyone at Mayo has been wonderful, but I’ve noticed there are the rare people who seem comfortable interacting and talking with him. Emily is one of those. She was sincerely interested in him and his background and was exceptionally kind. He commented on how “nice” she was several times. As his wife, it always lifts my spirits to observe what I call the truly kind people of the world. As a retired RN, I was also appreciative of her efficiency and attention to the technical aspects of her job. Mayo is lucky to have such an exceptional employee!
