I was hospitalized at Martin North for a week of this year due to a bacterial infection as a complication of femoral artery replacement of the left leg. This was my third stay in 3 months. Needless to say, I was growing very weary and truly concerned about the outcome. I was in isolation and by the 4th day of my stay visitors were no longer allowed due to COVID-19. My wife and I were at our breaking point, however, I was lucky enough to have had Emily as my nurse. Not only did she show excellent clinical skills but her compassion and emotional support for both my wife and I carried us through that difficult time. Emily truly deserves recognition as an outstanding nurse.
