Emily was the primary RN on a 36-day old Cardiopulmonary Arrest. She was focused on the provision of and facilitation of care of this baby. Inevitably, this baby was resuscitated, transferred to Bend, then transferred to Portland and subsequently transferred to Seattle. Her manager was involved as a bystander and said she was completely blown away by Emily's caring and compassion that she witnessed during the provision of patient care and that was not the only time.
Emily was the Charge Nurse on a shift when a patient arrived to later find out had an aortic aneurysm. Several colleagues reported how she kept the entire department flowing, while being there first hand to support her staff during a massive blood transfusion. They reported she was supportive and directive and guiding through a high risk and low-frequency event with a new machine. Emily does amazing things on a daily basis.
