My dad spent almost 2 weeks in the hospital. While he was there, he developed delirium. As a nurse, I know firsthand how difficult it is to care for someone with severe delirium.

While he had great care during his stay, Emily was the only one I saw go above and beyond when interacting with my dad. Rather than forcing him to comply, she found ways to reason with him to get him to comply with wearing his oxygen. When he tried leaving his room, she grabbed his mask and walker and escorted him, allowing him to walk out his restlessness in a safe manner. I wish you could clone Emily, but since you can’t a DAISY Award would go a long way in letting her know how very much my family and I appreciated the kindness and compassion she demonstrated in caring for my dad. She truly is an amazing nurse!
