Emily was the primary RN for a patient who was being discharged from our floor after a 90-day admission. This patient had gone from critical to stable and ready for rehab after this long stay. Emily gave this patient a going away celebration with the other staff members and a gift and card from the unit. This patient greatly appreciated the gift, which was a robe, so she could wear it home. Small comforts like this remind our patients of home and provide a level of dignity at discharge rather than having to go home in a hospital gown. Emily is always kind and thoughtful of our patient's needs.
