October 2025 Honoree
Emily Morales, RN
I had to stay in the unit for four days. This surgery was unexpected. I was fearful, and I had worries being a nurse myself. I knew it would be painful. I’m also a mother who needed to get home to her children as soon as possible.
The first few days were the worst. I cried in pain, asking for anything to relieve my pain. This nurse came in, she took charge, with a convoy and a smile, she says, “I will be doing everything I can to help you.“ I felt a sense of hope and relaxation in those words. She stayed on top of my pain, making it a point to check on me on time, inquiring about my pain, and was willing to come to my aid at any time.
Thank you to Emily for being a great nurse and for listening. Thank you for your kindness, empathy, and compassion. Thank you for being you and making such a great impact. You helped me through a very difficult time, helped me get home to my family, and showed me patience as well!
Thank you once again, Nurse Emily.
