My dad has gone through a lot. He was in and out of the hospital, starting with a stroke and then two bouts of sepsis. He was in Acute Care and Rehab twice before moving down to my brother's home to live. Let me say that everyone in Unit 1 is exceptional, but Emily is even above and beyond that. Emily's clinical skills are top-notch, but the way that she connected with Dad and was able to keep him calm, the time she took to do that when I know how busy everyone on that unit is, the way she handled him even when he was not having a good time of things, was being obstinate and even mean to many, my dad left there feeling as if he made a friend. He was emotional about it and still speaks about how he misses Emily. Thank you so much, Emily, for befriending my dad and making him feel like he was worth caring about. He has had a hard life without a whole lot of love or caring in it. You gave him a gift that he will never forget. Thank you so much!
