We nominate Emily for the DAISY Award for her care of our family member. Emily's clinical expertise combined with her compassionate, caring nature make her an outstanding nurse and an excellent addition to the UW-Hospital team.

Emily's conscientious attention to detail with regard to the hospital care plan and her very patient responses to the hundreds of questions we asked are two of the many examples we could give of the range of Emily's insights with regard to treatment protocols were of particular value to us and she really helped us navigate the more difficult days of our family member's recovery.

Emily's nursing excellence extends from her professional knowledge to her clear and genuine empathy for her patients and their families. In so many ways, Emily made us feel we were in kind and capable hands. Emily's sympathetic pats on the shoulder during a physically challenging morning and her encouraging "Good for you!" after that first short, tiring walk after surgery made our family member feel comforted and reassured. We are grateful to have met her and been in her care.
