May 2023 Honoree
Emily Parker, RN, BSN
Emily was my mother-in-law's nurse the day she was removed from high-flow oxygen. When we knew she would not survive. Emily explained what was happening each time the oxygen was reduced so we knew what to expect. She found an old song from the 50s that was special to my in-laws and played it while my mother-in-law sang along. That is one example of the little things she did that meant so much to us. Emily was the most attentive to V of all her nurses; she helped us when we felt uncomfortable transitioning into hospice. She was beyond compassionate with the family, even returning after her shift was over to check on us.
Thank you, Emily, for your exceptional compassion, advocacy, and dedication to your patients. You truly make a difference.
