Emily was caring for an elderly man who was actively dying. He had no family except for the staff where he lived. The staff visited when they could but while they were gone Emily sat with him and held his hand so that he would not be alone. The person who nominated Emily stated:
"Emily took the time that was needed to ease the patient through his journey. This meant a lot to us."
