I was very much at ease in Emily's care, and she built trust immediately.
I came into the ER in January with symptoms of a stroke after already having a TIA. This happening for a second time was/is super scary for not only me but for my husband as well. It took quite a while for me to get to my room as the ER and MRI departments were inundated with patients. After my MRI, I finally got up to my room and met my nurse, Emily. I was exhausted and just wanted to sleep. She went through the admitting process with me and while swift with her questions, she was also very thorough. She explained everything so that I could understand and ease my fears.
Emily is a brand-new nurse who has the confidence of a nurse who has been working for 20 years. More importantly, she allows her heart and personality to shine through. I was very much at ease in her care, and she built trust immediately. Heaven is not filled with just one angel. It has multiple. I do believe Emily is an “Angel in Waiting,” meaning she gets a fast pass in my book. Emily makes the world a better place. To work on a floor where there is so much stress takes people with compassion, heart, grit, transparency, and loads of patience. Emily embodies what it means to be an RN.
Emily, thank you for your help and understanding. I hope and know you will have a prosperous career and future. Thank you for being here for people like me during times like this. Congrats on your graduation!
