Emily Sopocy, RN
I am honored to commend Emily Sopocy for the exceptional care she provided during my husband’s recovery from open-heart surgery.
From the very beginning, Emily went far beyond the expectations of her role. During some of the most difficult and emotional days our family has ever faced, she was a steady source of comfort, strength, and reassurance. Her kindness and compassion were evident in every interaction, not only in the way she cared for my husband’s medical needs, but in how she treated him as a whole person. She showed incredible patience, always taking the time to explain procedures, answer questions, and ease fears, no matter how busy the unit was. Her calm presence helped bring a sense of peace in moments that felt overwhelming. She encouraged my husband when he felt discouraged, celebrating even the smallest milestones and helping him find the strength to keep going.
Importantly, she treated my husband with the utmost dignity and respect. As a physician himself, he is deeply familiar with the vulnerability that comes with being a patient, and Emily honored that with grace and sensitivity. She balanced professionalism with genuine warmth, ensuring he felt both respected for his background and cared for as a patient in need.
What truly sets Emily apart is her genuine empathy. She didn’t just care for a patient; she cared for our entire family. She listened, she reassured, and she made us feel seen and supported every step of the way. Because of her, a frightening and uncertain experience became one filled with hope, dignity, and healing. We will never forget the impact she had on our lives.
