You were so kind and encouraging that you inspired me, and I am hoping to go to LPN school in fall of 2024.
We were admitted to the NICU due to my 5-day old having jaundice levels that were too high to take care of at home.

We had come straight from my baby’s first doctor appointment and had no time to go home. I was crying and alone, as we were first admitted into the peds department, so my husband went home to get us something to settle into for the night. Emily was so kind to me, as we transferred my daughter into the NICU.

Emily was very kind to me and answered as many questions as she could until my husband arrived with our belongings. As they were setting my baby up with an IV, she asked us to leave the room because “she won’t remember this, but you two will always remember this moment.” So we did, and I was sobbing uncontrollably. Pretty sure that the psych ward was on call for a new admission. It took three nurses to get an IV for my daughter. She was strong and was a fighter.

I asked Emily if I could hold my baby after the doctors did their rounds and she said she would ask; and that it all depended upon the baby’s numbers. Emily made sure to ask, and after rounds, I got to hold my daughter for the first time in about 18 hours. Soon after, we were told her numbers were looking good enough that we could move back to the Peds department.

My baby is doing so well now, almost eight months later. She is still so strong-willed and physically strong!

Thank you for all you do.
