Nurse Stevens is always available for the Institution. She is very diligent in her duties and care of the inmate population. Nurse Stevens is very knowledgeable about her job and has a pleasant atmosphere around her. She is a valuable team member to Haynesville Unit 17. Nurse Emily Stevens has been the full-time nurse at Haynesville Correctional Unit 17 for the last 2 years and during this timeframe, she has tremendously helped out the unit by providing top-notch services to our Inmate population. She did a great job with our COVID outbreak where almost our entire population of Inmates tested positive and she informed everybody of incidents and also provided information to the Inmates to keep them calm. She communicates extremely well with security by getting with them before she sets up transportation and sends out multiple reminders of upcoming transportation runs, appointments, and other medical staff. She is a great asset to the facility and helps things run smoothly on a daily basis. Throughout the past 2 years, she has also helped at the prison next door due to staff shortage and even pulled double shifts in order to make sure the job was completed and everybody was safe.
