Emily W Binder, RN, IBCLC
Emily is our lactation specialist for the Mother/Baby unit. Her kind and gentle demeanor does wonders for our sometimes stressed and sleep-deprived parents. I learn something from her every time I’m in the room with her teaching our parents. There have been so many moments to highlight her nomination, but I have limited space.
What I appreciate most is her consistent follow-through with everything she does. I had referred a mom for her recent breast changes, and she immediately saw this could possibly be a cancer-type diagnosis. Emily had the tenacity to follow through and get a diagnostic confirmation while this patient was still hospitalized. We both knew that she would not follow up as she had spotty prenatal care and did not have a provider. Emily was integral to having a hospital OB provider get testing and confirm her concerns. Our patients are so fortunate to have top-line lactation services provided!
