My husband was admitted to Cedar City Intermountain Hospital through the ER the weekend after Thanksgiving 2023. He was admitted to ICU in a Sepsis state within 24 hours of admit he was sent to the ICU. The final diagnosis was Bacterial Meningitis. Emily had floated to ICU from MedSurg, and was assigned his care. She gave 100% of her skill, knowledge, and compassion to both of us. Her calm manner and kindness came through every thought, work, and deed. She was non-judgmental and professional while providing a healing environment and allowing my husband to share life experiences. When on day two, my husband developed increasing agitation and confusion, apparently common with Meningitis, she spent her entire afternoon at the bedside providing safety and tender mercies to us both. My personal life as a retired RN was so amazed that there was actually a nurse with advanced skills, knowledge, and kindness still in the profession of nursing. She blessed us in a difficult time.
