Emily's personality and demeanor was contagious. She brought joy into the room when she walked in. She always asked what else she could do or get to make my entire support team's experience positive. Emily knew exactly what to say, but also as a clinician she medically knew what to do when I was the most exhausted or scared. She knew exactly what to say to make me feel safe and cared for. During the final stages of labor, she was the best coach. She led me through delivery and made me feel, through her expertise, that I could do it. I pushed for 3 hours with my first child and with our 2nd, we pushed for 13 minutes because of her knowledge. She brought safety and joy into something that was previously traumatic. She knew from my cues what I could handle and specifically needed. I'm grateful that I was able to deliver with her. Every mom should experience a delivery led by her.
