Emilyn Musngi, RN

Emilyn had great nursing instincts to round on a baby when she felt a situation didn’t seem right. Emilyn’s intuition saved a baby from an extremely unstable situation and saves the baby’s life. It would have been easy to ignore it but her drive to do the right thing and protect her patients prevented a sentinel event. She is nominated by everyone on her team for being a great charge nurse and mentor for new nurses.

Emilyn is a wonderful Mother Baby Nurse who serves her team as a preceptor and relief charge nurse. She is always willing to help and has compassion and love for her patients every day. We are blessed she is a part of the Mother Baby team at HCA Houston Healthcare Clear Lake Hospital. She will always be known as a lifesaver. Had she not followed her instincts within a few minutes it would have been detrimental to the overall well-being of the baby.
