Whilst impeccably maintaining her responsibilities to her colleagues and other patients in the ward, Emine Suong transformed my cancer-related procedures (which could have been a torment) into a festival of kindness. Her co-workers whose care l experienced are also gifted in the practice of compassion. Still, Emine went above and beyond her calling, sensing my fears about my condition, making my comfort and pain management a priority, making sure I knew the nature and purpose of my new routines, making me feel like my feelings matter like the nurse in charge of my care had a personal stake in my recovery.
