August 2016 Honoree
emma huelsman, RN
My teenage daughter was recently in the hospital for an appendectomy. She had never been in the hospital before or had surgery of any kind, so she was a little apprehensive about what to expect. All of the staff were wonderful about taking the time to explain to her what to expect. Emma was her primary nurse before and after surgery and she did an exceptional job at monitoring my daughter as she recovered. She took extra time to attend to her pain and nausea needs and was very supportive of her and of us (her parents).
I am a nurse myself, so I understand how demanding med/surg can be. It meant that much more to me because I understand that it can be difficult sometimes to be as "hands-on" as we want due to the demands of the job. Thank you, Emma.
