She [Emma] is a wonderful nurse. She helps me cope with my mom’s passing, and she is just an all-around good nurse. She is a really good person. She is a good communicator. She understands what I’m dealing with.

I was admitted to the psych/behavioral health a week ago. I had taken an overdose of 90 pills. I was delusional and was having hallucinations. I was going to other people’s rooms, I was very confused and worried and scared.
Emma never judged me or was angry with me. She was patient and kind and used gentle reassurance and would gently take me back to my room.
After I recovered and went to her and apologized for my behavior, she said, “Thank you! It’s appreciated, but we knew you were very unwell and we don’t judge; we accept you as you are.”
I totally felt like I was accepted, cared for, and that I mattered so much!
