Emma was nominated by her peer. She writes:  Emma is a silent and humble server, who does not make any show about her service, compassion, and love. I have watched her stand on the train home from clinical so that others (including nursing students) could enjoy a seat. I also saw her help a professor carry lecture props back to the Kimball Tower when her next class was not even in that building. She is always the first to volunteer to pray in class, and they are the sincerest prayers on behalf of everyone in the room.
Last semester in clinical, I had a couple of chances to be in the same unit as Emma. She never stopped working. She was always walking from room to room (even the ones who weren 't her patients) looking for people to help and serve. She skipped lunch a lot of times also because there was just so much to do.
Recently, I was sitting next to her and noticed a paper she was taking notes on. It was right before a church meeting, and on the paper, there was a word in bold, written largely across the page. I asked what it was for and she said, "It 's my goal for something to learn and look for in the talks." I remember that weekend was extremely busy with school and I was just so impressed that she had taken the time to sit down and think of a goal that would help her become more like the Savior. I do believe that is what Emma epitomizes: someone who genuinely wants to be kind and be better."
