I have had Fidelity for home care several times and all the nurses were good but Emmalee deserves a gold metal. She saved my life. My doctor had increased my Gabapentin from 300 mg to 600mg and I started with dizziness, feeling crazy, sleeping all the time. Emmalee picked up right away that that increase could be causing the symptoms, she called my doctor and he decreased it to 400mg and now I am fine. She also talked to me about trying extra strength Tylenol for pain instead of the Tylenol with Codeine or Percocet I had been taking for a long time to see if that would help my sciatic pain. She said to take it when I first began to feel the pain instead of waiting until the pain was really bad. I did and it helped. I have been concerned about becoming dependent on the Tylenol with codeine and Percocet I have and now I realize my pain can be controlled with regular Tylenol. She sits down and goes over my medications better than even my doctor does. I want to have her as my nurse every time I need home care. She is the best nurse and deserves to be recognized.

Emmalee went above and beyond to advocate for a patient. This patient was involved in an accident and had several vertebral fractures. She had been on fentanyl patches since surgery. She had a follow-up appointment and the Doctor said she was on the lowest dose of Fentanyl and she should have no issues just discontinuing the patch. The patient experienced horrible withdraw symptoms and called Emmalee, and wrote to the PCP in "my chart". She had no call or message back from PCP. Emmalee called the office and was told this Doctor does not prescribe Fentanyl and she would need to follow up with whoever ordered it at the hospital. The Physician at the hospital said the PCP needs to follow. The nurse even tried the surgeon trying to get help coming up with a plan to wean off somehow. No one would help. She kept calling the Doctor's office back and finally they agreed to order a pain med she could take to wean off the Fentanyl. Advocating for a patient at its finest.
