My mom was diagnosed with Stage IV breast cancer, and during her more than month-long hospital stay, all the nurses provided exceptional care. However, Nurse EJ stood out the most, showing empathy and compassion not only to my mom but also to my dad and me.

He consistently checked on my mom’s overall comfort and encouraged her throughout her stay. There was a time when my mom experienced discomfort due to her urinary catheter. Nurse EJ didn’t leave us; instead, he stayed by her side, closely observed her condition, and promptly notified the surgery team.

Upon discharge, Nurse EJ went the extra mile by delivering the medication we had left behind at the hospital—even after his shift had ended—and continued to check in on my mom’s well-being.
