Upon suddenly finding myself on this unit, Emmele continued to make the transition to being hospitalized tolerable. Her professionalism was peppered with a friendly demeanor as well as humor. She took care to see that a drug I require daily but was not listed, was added to the other scheduled ones. Plus, she was certain that my scheduled treatments were timely. Additionally, she calmed my irritation when more tests in addition to the several given the night before in the ED, were ordered. Also, as a mentor to a new nurse on the unit, she provided assurance without hovering, that quality care would continue. And further, going beyond the "job" requirements one more thing to add.
Since I didn't really think I would be admitted, I had driven myself to the ED. She took time on her break my second day here to go check on my car where it was parked near the ED to see that it was still there and OK. Thank you, Emmele.
