You are all true partners with nursing, and without you, our patients could not receive the safe, quality care that they receive while on-site. I hope you know that the work you all do does not go unnoticed- every room you prepare, every surface you sanitize, and every effort you make to maintain a high standard of cleanliness helps to provide exceptional patient care. You are all essential to not only nursing, but the whole of Saint Francis.

Throughput has become one of the top priorities not only while we were under Ascension, but also for Prime. This environmental services team has been instrumental in making throughput improvement happen. You all turn rooms over quickly, allowing nursing to deliver care more efficiently. You are instrumental in this throughput improvement, working side-by-side with us. Even amid deep cleaning and rapid room turnovers, this team maintains communication with our nursing team regularly, and you all offer help wherever it is needed. Although you have your Environmental Services department, every single one of you is a part of the unit family. While you are working with quick turnaround times, you are doing so with a smile on your face. I can speak about this from personal experience; whenever I am out rounding on the floors, every one of you is friendly and courteous. And I am not the only one who says this; here are just a few nominations that we received when identifying who would be our next department to be honored.

4South talks about Tammy, who previously was assigned to 4South and now supports various units throughout the hospital. They state that no matter what floor she is assigned to for the day, she often still stops by to check on us. It is truly heartwarming that she still makes time to check on our floor and makes sure our needs both for staff and patients are being met.

On 5South, they state that Juana has such dedication and attention to detail, this meticulous care does not go unnoticed. The house supervisors say that every member of this team is vital to our mission to provide high standards of care, decrease the spread of bacteria, and keep our patients safe with diligent environmental monitoring. I cannot thank you enough for creating a welcoming and safe environment for our patients, families, and associates.

Thank you for your exceptional compassion, advocacy, and dedication to your patients. You truly make a difference.
