I would like to recognize Ereka for the incredible compassion and care she shows to one of our special needs patients.
This patient often becomes scared and overwhelmed during care, crying out and not understanding what is happening. While it can be challenging to meet her needs in those moments, this nurse goes above and beyond to make sure she feels safe and comforted.
She doesn't just focus on the patient's physical health; she also takes the time to care for her emotional well-being. She sings gently to her while in the room, creating a calming presence that eases her fear. Her patience, empathy, and kindness allow the patient to feel supported and loved, even in stressful situations.
Ereka exemplifies what it means to be a nurse. She provides not only excellent clinical care but also a genuine human connection. Her ability to meet patients where they are and to care for them with such dignity and compassion is truly extraordinary.
