From day one my husband was assigned to this unit. Eric showed patient empathy and a connection to his patient and me. It was a noticeable ability to integrate teaching and caring. My husband had a procedure done but no one had given us an update, yet another procedure was ordered. My husband and I needed to know what was going on. He communicated and collaborated with the GI unit. He was a human with dignity, empathy, and quality. My husband has PTSD, so when I made that known to him after a person was moved into the room with him (fear of outbursts triggers my husband's condition), Eric took action to ensure the safety and well-being of both patients in the room. He also made it a point to pass this information on to the incoming shift. He has awesome communication skills, solid and noticeable.
