I am writing to proudly recognize Eric Erps for the exceptional care he provided to my brother following his major abdominal surgery.
From the very beginning of my brother’s hospitalization, Eric demonstrated an extraordinary level of compassion, professionalism, and clinical expertise. Recovering from major surgery is never easy—especially for someone young who already feels uncomfortable and anxious in a hospital setting. However, Eric’s presence made a profound difference in my brother’s experience.
Eric was consistently attentive to my brother’s post-operative needs, ensuring his comfort, monitoring his recovery closely, and addressing concerns with both knowledge and reassurance. What truly set Eric apart was his genuine kindness and ability to connect on a personal level. He took the time to listen, to explain, and to make my brother feel seen and cared for—not just as a patient, but as a person.
Despite my brother’s strong dislike of being in the hospital, Eric made his stay not only tolerable but significantly more positive. In fact, my brother looked forward to seeing Eric each evening—a testament to the trust and comfort Eric built during a very vulnerable time.
Eric Erps exemplifies the very essence of nursing excellence. His compassion, dedication, and skill had a lasting impact on my brother’s recovery and overall hospital experience. I cannot think of a more deserving candidate for the DAISY Award.
