I am writing to inform you of the care and support that the staff on the fifth floor gave to my sister and the rest of her family. At a time when the quality of patient care at most hospitals seems to be declining, I feel it is on the rise at DePaul Hospital. Your promises of compassion, respect and excellence were fulfilled by the nursing staff. Because of the quality of care my sister and her family received, everyone was better prepared to deal with her death on January 16th.
I want to especially thank Eric Lotter, RN and Chris Engelbart, RN, two fantastic nurses who watched over my sister. They anticipated every need and kept the family well informed of her condition, which better prepared us for the difficult hours ahead. Eric and Chris patiently answered our questions and fulfilled every request our family made. I cannot praise them both enough or thank them adequately for everything they did for my sister and her family. We were truly blessed to have such well trained, compassionate nurses by our side during such a difficult time.
