A patient was identified as having difficulty communicating on the phone and seemed to be in distress. The concern about the patient was relayed to Eric Louchren, LVN for assistance. Eric recognized the member was in distress and requested emergency service to be sent to the patient’s address. Eric stayed on the phone with the member to aid him. Emergency services was not able to find the patient at the listed address. When asked where he was, the patient refused to give his location. With assistance and from his manager, Christine Lee RN, began to do an investigation and she was able to find out from those at the listed address, that the patient was living in a camper nearby. She relayed the information to the Emergency Services, and they found the patient. The patient was experiencing medical distress and needed emergency services for his condition. Eric and Christine played an important role in providing care for this patient and getting him the service he needed. The family was thankful for the identification of his condition and the care and concern provided to their loved one.
