I want to take this time to say "Thank You" to Eric, RN at Aurora BayCare Medical Center. I accompanied my niece to the Emergency Department today. She has been through so much in her battle against cancer. I have been with her at a number of her appointments. She came in today experiencing much pain, difficulty breathing, nausea, and vomiting. Eric was amazing! He explained everything he was doing, he was kind, compassionate, and provided excellent patient care. We could not have had a better nurse. Though he was busy with other patients too, he made sure to check in with my niece regularly and kept moving procedures along as smoothly as possible. He was attentive to her need for pain medication and anti-nausea medication. He provided us a form for power of attorney for healthcare, which we filled out while there. He was there for my niece when she came back from having her right lung drained of fluid, brought her a warm blanket, and even brought water and snack for me since we were there a long time. I, being an RN also, recognize a great RN and know Eric is deserving of this DAISY Award.
