Eric Russell was very precise in his skills. Eric would always let me know what I was being given and what would the medicine timetable be while it was working. This allowed me to feel that I had a part in what was happening to me. He always was ahead of the game and being able to read how I was feeling and what I needed. I never went without water being there all the time. I never was without proper warm blankets. I never had to wait if I had to go to the bathroom. It's hard to put into words why he was such a good nurse. He had confidence in himself and me and thus I stopped being depressed and got confidence in myself, not just for when he was there. He instilled in me that I was a team member in my care; the head team member and I had all these wonderful nurses and staff to support and help me get better. He was not self-centered. He was a true team player. Eric is an exceptional nurse not only for his skills but for what he brings along with them, skills you cannot teach, skills you have to have within you.
