Eric told the patient to lay on her stomach and he rubbed her back with the heat packs.
I'm nominating Eric for being a dedicated compassionate human being and a RN. I was the P.S.A. for our patient today. And, she hasn't slept due to her pain, which is a side effect of one of her meds. Our patient was so uncomfortable and sad at the beginning of the shift. Eric came to the patient's and held her hand after giving her Tylenol, he did not let it go for around 10 minutes. Eric stood close to her and reminded her "one more day of treatment, that's all one more day". Our patient was a little more at ease and felt better hearing those words from Eric.
During the end of the shift, our patient's bone pain was a little worst. Eric right away went to get more Tylenol that was the only medication she was allowed to have, along with four heat packs. Eric told the patient to lay on her stomach and he rubbed her back with the heat packs, she was tearing up, by the time Eric was done she said he made her feel so much better. During our shift, our patient communicated to me that Eric is so good to her. Eric reminded the patient this is temporary and soon she will be home with her family.
