Eric cared for my mom back in December. At the time, I thought that this nurse was one of a kind. I thought to myself... you need to nominate him for a DAISY Award. But then time and life challenges take their toll, and nominating Eric fell by the wayside. 

Fast-forward to January, and my mom gets readmitted to the same room in Med Surg. As I walked in to visit her, I looked at the whiteboard and saw Eric's name again!! Same room, same nurse. He instantly remembered me and my mom and the details of her last admission. His communication skills are so thorough. He explained the plan of care, updated me on doctor visits and notes, reviewed labs, and always checked back in on us. 

I have been a nurse at RCMC for almost 30 years. This is what every nurse should strive to be like. This is the type of nurse that makes me proud to be a part of the Rush Copley team. My Mom has Alzheimer’s, and although she won't remember Eric being her nurse and providing such kind and professional care, I will never forget. Continue to do the amazing work you do, all while making it seem effortless.
